There was some good news for the Dublin region last week with the announcement of over 120 new jobs to be created in the capital by AOL and Eirtech Aviation.
Irish-owned aircraft maintenance firm Eirtech Aviation is to create 71 jobs at Dublin Airport. The company already employs 65 workers in Shannon following a management buy-out of Lufthansa Technik Painting Shannon. The number of jobs in Dublin is expected to rise to 100 in five years.
While Internet company AOL is to provide 50 new software engineering jobs at its Dublin development centre over the next two years. AOL has also announced it is moving to new headquarters in Dublincity centre from its base at Citywest, where it has been for the past ten years. Dublin is its development engine for Europe where 110 people are at present employed.
