While three-quarters of Irish homes have some form of insulation, a survey from Energia has shown that two thirds of homeowners are unaware of how energy efficient their home actually is.
The main findings were:
- 62% of households are not aware of the energy rating for their home
- 75% of insulation jobs cost less than €3,000, with over half costing less than €2,000
- Over 90% of respondents said their insulation work was value for money
The survey was completed in advance of the opening of their new Energia Centre at the House2Home showrooms at Killeen Road, where consumers can avail of advice on insulation, boilers and heating, solar energy and heat pumps.
Energia says that the average home can avail of savings of up to 60%, almost €10,000 over the course of five years. “Some of the energy efficiency offers available to Energia customers include: a massive 47% discount on boiler replacement packages; 25% discounts on cavity wall insulation; 24% savings on solar panel installation and discounts of 22% are available on energy efficient home heating systems,” said Geoff Codd, Head of Marketing, Energia.
