Northern tour

Fancy taking in some sights in Northern Ireland before the summer comes to an end? Finn McCool Tours is offering discounted rates for customers who purchase coupon codes for a trip to the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Bridge through Groupon, reduced from €45 to €35 for one person or €70 for two (which is really the same deal).

For that you’ll be picked up in Dublin city outside The Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square North at 7.30am, and dropped off again at 7pm that evening on O’Connell Street.

Just be warned that if you want to actually cross the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge (which can be a hairy experience if you aren’t fond of heights), there’s a surcharge of £5.90 (€6.86) which is the standard fee for crossing over.

Waterproof clothing and comfortable footwear is definitely recommended. For the usual fine print, see

Back to school with Lidl

In the spirit of going back to school, Lidl is offering a range of school items from Monday August 15th. That includes packs of pens for €1.19, ink cartridges for €2.99 each, and a Lenovo tablet for €99.

Fancy learning how to do more with the camera on your iPhone?

Your shots might not make the next cover of National Geographic, but they can be great additions for blog and Facebook posts. This Udemy course (currently free, usually €20) offers tutorials on topics included manual vs automatic focus, the use of light and the rule of thirds.

Pick up an (e)book

Tuesday, if you hadn’t heard, was National Book Lovers Days, a day in celebration of bookworms and their favourite titles across the globe. If you prefer ebooks to hard copies, DID compiled a list of top tips for e-reader users earlier this year, ranging from daily deals to taking advantage of third party apps.

When not writing about all things personal finance, You & Your Money's editor Conor Forrest enjoys reading, football and getting lost in an ocean of Wikipedia articles.
