Ireland’s Guide To Money And Living

Free Leap travel for kids

Running for a limited time this summer, pick up a free Child Leap card (available for children aged between 4-15 and 16-18) and pay no fares on a number of services between July 6th – 19th.

Services include:

  • Dublin bus (exluding Airlink)
  • All Luas and DART services
  • Commuter rail services in Dublin city’s short hop zone (which includes Dublin area stations from Greystones to Balbriggan as well as commuter trains running between the city centre and Maynooth or Hazelhatch).
  • Any Bus Éireann services that accept Leap Cards.
  • Swords Express, Ashbourne Connect, Express Bus and Wexford Bus (connect) services.

Just remember – even though you won’t be charged anything, children availing of free travel with a Leap Card will need at least 1c on the card to travel anywhere.
