Ditch the wheels this weekend

Ditch the wheels

Travelling between cities this Easter weekend? Considering that several hundred thousand people are expected to descend on Dublin for the festivities, and that any available space in the city will be gone before long, it might be best to ditch the car and take public transport where possible.

Following on from the Luas limited edition family Leap Card, Iarnród Éireann is playing their part in the commemorative events by launching a special fare of €19.16 (one way), available for intercity rail journeys between March 25th and 28th.

Only available online, the special fare will get you to Dublin from Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Westport, Galway, Sligo, Tralee, Rosslare on Easter Friday, and home again for the same price on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

JJ Kavanagh is also getting in on the action – their recently launched Easter Rising seat sale offers 10% off tickets when booking online. Available between March 21st and 28th, just enter the promotional code 1916 when making your purchase.
